The Gilded age was an age that was marked by extremes, on one side there was an immense spread of wealth but at the same time, there was also massive poverty. Expansion, as well as greater depression, worked hand in hand during this time, and though there were new opportunities opening, there was also Standardization and corruption to a large extent. There was a lot of economic uncertainty during this age as several people were losing their jobs, as well as there was mass unemployment and lower pay scales.
